The reason we have laws

I think there are many reasons civilizations need laws. If we didn't have laws the world would be chaotic. We would be steeling stuff, killing people, doing everything that we can't do now. The laws keep us in control. We still break the laws, but not as much as we would if there were no legs. Some of the laws I think are a bit harsh, like a lot of Hammuarbi's laws. He said that if a son attacks his father the son would have his hand cut off as a punishment. I think the reason that some laws were very harsh and intimidating back then because the leader of that place wants to stay in power. He might have been scared that someone would overthrow him so he would want to scare people with terrorfying laws. He wouldn't want people to think about overthrowing him.

The Headline for G.G.S part 2

My new headline for Guns, Germs and Steel was, "How People and Civilizations thrived." I chose this headline because the movie is all about the beginnings of civilization and how it advanced from The Stone age to now. It also showed that people needed civilization to thrive. People and civilizations thrive by food and cooperation. If people didn't have a good food source such as farms, they wouldn't have the time or energy to build civilization. In the Neolithic age people had to cooperate with each other to get things done.
The reason for some parts of Papa New Guinea to not have very advanced civilization is because that they do not have enough recourses to farm. This to me is odd because I can understand that many years ago they wouldnt but now I think, why can't they try and get some help?

THE HEADLINE

My headline for my notes of Guns, Germs, and steel was Notes on Civilization. That basically means my thoughts of the movie about early civilization and important things. My thoughts were that it was very strange that some places in Papa New Guinea still lived like the Paleolithic. Also i never new that civilizations thrived for a time in the middle east. Maybe my headline could become; How People and Civilizations Thrived.

My THE WALL OF THOUGHTS thoughts.

One of my thoughts of the Wall Of Thoughts was always nagging at me. That between how K.L survives and how the early humans survived are not so different from each other. K.L has jobs for people who need the money and to keep the city running, in other words, to survive. The early humans also would have had jobs to survive. They needed to find food, fire, shelter and a lot more things. All of these were jobs they had to do and in return the early humans got food and shelter and the people in K.L get those to and money. There are many other things that K.L have in common such as technology. K.L has computers and all the modern technology but it also has something the early humans had. That was contraptions of all different things. The smart enough early humans would have made traps for animals. That is a contraption. That is the same with K.L. K.L also has contraptions of defence such as guns. The early humans had the bow and arrow. The Wall of Thoughts did not really have many differences.
These were my thoughts on The Wall of Thoughts.

What makes (this may give clues to where I live) a civlization.

Well, what does make ........ a civilization? A good civilization such as....... needs many things. One of these things is a good government which means authority. If ....... did not have a government it would not have authority and the city would collapse. In order to have a good government there must be a good leader, weather it's a prime minister or a president.
Another thing that makes ...... a good civilization is the resources. If this city didn't have any resources there wouldn't be enough business to keep it running. There are oil company's here because there is a lot of oil here. There are other mining company's because here is resourceful place.
There is another thing that makes ...... a civilization. This is the entertainment. There is a huge amount of entertainment here with all the malls and movies. If there was none of this nobody would want to come here. The architecture is also very entertaining. The towers have a very entertaining structure and so do the other buildings. In a good civilization like this there has to be good schooling for the children. There are a lot of kids here because there are good schools and education. If there were no education very few people would be here and that would make it terrible for the economy.
So what makes ...... a civilization? these were some of the things.

The A Few Days Early News

This is The A Few Days Early News, the complete opposite to The A Few Days Late News. We have just discovered that in 3 days time, the Christmas season officially will start for some people! (hence why the reporter of The A Few Days Early News is writing in red and green) The shops have already put Christmas decorations up, and they are starting to sell Christmas things.
In annoyance for not winning the election, Gandalf has decided that, to put his mind off losing he will eat lots of chocolate and then become Gandalf the red so he looks like father Christmas. The people in the office here at T.A.F.D.E.N and T.A.F.D.L.N don't think that he'll look anything like father Christmas but, oh well.
That is all for The A Few Days Early News.

What blogging is supposed to be.

Blogging is supposed to be for all audiences. Blogging, is supposed to be very general. Blogging, is supposed to not let any information about your self out. Blogging... Is dangerous. I am not saying it's bad, just that it can be used as a weapon. Which is why you should always be protective of your information because you never know who might be looking. When you blog, you can't say stuff like, "Hey dude, 'sup? LOL, u should go into text speak class!" because anyone is looking. I like to keep it formal as if to a teacher, but not too formal and not too serious. You are not supposed to make it look like a killing machine. Blogging is not a form of email site like Hot mail or Gmail. You can't, when adding a comment, say, "hi, do you want to go to the movies." So when you are happely writing where you live and what your last name is, remember. Blogging... is dangorious.

The afew days late news

Attention all veiwers! Breaking news from, the A few Days Late, News. On the 5th of November, McCain and Gandalf lost the election to... President Obama! This was a big surprise to all of us because i voted for Gandalf 20000000000003 times. oops, I should not have said that. Anyway. We are all very happy about this and now they will get a puppy! wait, that should be in a few weeks so it is counted in A Few Days Late News.

Response to SPCA

I think the SPCA slide show was very intense, however it got the message across well. I think a lot of people would now be asking for a cat or a dog, I have asked for a cat a number of times but we can't get one because we get a lot of stray cats around our neighborhood who might have diseases and could be rabid.. I think the SPCA in general was better than some other organizations like this and it is a lot more caring. When we were back home, (NZ) we got 2 cats from the SPCA. I think that we do need a lot of people to adopt animals from there because there are a lot of homeless animals, and injured animals because of the traffic. I think the SPCA has done a good job so far.

Did I like Call it Courage?

In the end, it turned out that I liked Call it Courage. At first I thought that it would be the same old silly thing about courage. Then, when Mafatu landed on the island, I found that it was really interesting. I really like how Mafatu survives on the island and how he does things. I think the author did a great job at making's Mafatu's personality for example; I like how Mafatu plans what he is going to do, he doesn't just cower on the beach.

Gandalf or Obama?

Personally, I think Gandalf the White would be the best president of the U.S because....
He's awesome!!!!!
I like Lord of the Rings
He's a wizard
He's got that cool staff.
